Be the Church
Recently, while we were heading out for some visitation and ministry on a Sunday morning, I told Angela, ‘we’re not GOING to church, we’re going to BE the church.’ Church attendance and fellowship is so vital, but it’s also important to meet people in their time and place of need. That’s what Jesus did.
We then visited several who were in physical therapy and in the hospital. As we walked into a hospital room, one woman said, “Have you been to church? I said, yes ma’am, we’ve been the church. Again, she said, have you been to church? I said, yes ma’am, we’ve been the church.” Then she simply smiled, knowing that we had BEEN the Church and were being the Church. We ARE the body of Christ, His hands and His feet. And…He’s entrusting us ALL to, not just go to Church, but BE the Church.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God, and every one that loves is born of God and knows God. He that loves not, knows not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:7-8
